A novel in 3D: Demented, Deranged and Delirious. White Skull is the story of Misson, who sails in search of the pirate William Kid in the year 1666. An alliterative and oneiric cascade of language that ecstatically tells a story in graphic, beautiful detail. With strange echoes of Conrad's Heart of Darkness, as if James Havoc has transported the story to another dimension, to a place that Apocalypse Now could hardly dare to venture.

The writing flows, bubbling like lava. There's a nightmarish quality that is captivating, with the narrative submerged in the flow of words. It is, without doubt, James Havoc's finest work to date.

This is going to be a book you either love or hate, it allows no other reaction.
