This is a book where, for once, the graphics and the text are perfectly matched. Housk Randall's pictures have always reflected some of the realities of the fetish scene. His models are not just models, they're real people, with bodies that don't always match the silicone perfection and svelte proportions of a lot of fetish glamour work. There's a witty feel about them too, a reminder that people do these things because they enjoy them. That said some of the piercing photos had me squirming in my seat. There ain't no way anybody's ever going to do that to me…
To go with the graphics Mark Ramsden's text is also witty, interesting and sometimes defiantly sensible. The description of An Evening at the Torture Garden is priceless, and does much to deflate some of the pompous prats who plague the fetish scene so much.
There are lots of fetish anthologies on the market, and this is definitely one of the better ones.
